Christmas cake or Fruit cake



Flour (Maida) - 1 cup

Sugar –  one cup

Vanilla Essence - 1 spoon
Eggs - 5

Baking Powder - 1 spoon

Baking Soda - 1/2  spoon

Salt - 1/4  spoon

10 green cardamom –after seeds remove,to be used

ground cloves ¼ tsp+ ¼ spoon mixed spice

Ground nutmeg -1/4 spoon
Fruits and Nuts – 4 to 5 cups - chopped dried fruits and nuts in to small(walnuts, Dates, almonds, cashews-depend upon taste)

Spice Powder:

  • Grind all the spices with a pinch of sugar, to a fine powder & keep aside.

  •  If possible , Soak dry fruits in fresh orange juice. Leave it overnight at room temp for better taste


  • Take all the dried fruits and nuts in small vessel and toss with little sieved flour

  • Sieved flour, Spice powder ,baking powder, baking soda and salt add into smallvessel and  mix it.

  • Sieved egg to be beaten(if possible ,isolate yolks and whites-yolkes can be mixed with little butter add during ingredients addition) and Add the sugar and vanilla essence in to that.

  • Add this in to the dry ingredients. Mix it thoroughly.

  • Till the cake becomes to pasty,thick nature and become to harden

  • Ensure proper mixup of all ingredients

  • Prepare cake utensil  and add the butter  and some sieved flour  in that surface  also to avoid stickiness.

  • Add the cake above mixture  to the cake utensil and make in to even surface

  • keep  it in a preheated 120 degree C oven for about 2-3 hours.

  • Ensure the cake condition  with small screwer or stick ie it becomes non sticky and cleaned surface then takeout the cake, cool completely

  • Fruit cake  - Christmas cake is ready----Have it---Enjoy Christmas
